Owing to the French Painting in 1950's. We can see that the colour usage of the late 40's to early 50's is in dull colour shade, either in black and white, or greyish colour. This is the reason why that Christian Dior put the Cygne Noir evening gown, which is in black silk, in the A/W Ligne Millier Su Siecle.

1947-1950 timeline plot of Dior

1947 The first collection of Christian Dior had created. The "New Look" terms had hit the fashion industry. "New Look"--- a kind of feminine Design, which emphasis on the bust line to show off the narrow waist, after the WWII.


1948 Christian Dior Pafume and Dior NEW YORK INC had set up.
